Switzerland's first documented guesthouse stood here as early as 1142. In 1932, it caused a sensation as the first electrically heated hotel in Europe. This environmental concept was also an obligation during the extensive renovation of the hotel from 2008 to 2010 - the entire house is heated with the waste heat from electricity production in a conscious and environmentally friendly manner.

As a historic four-star alpine hotel, the hotel sits majestically above the Grimsel reservoir in the heart of the KWO region.

The imposing technical facilities also delight visitors to the Grimsel World. On guided tours, the power plants, the tunnels and the famous Kristallkluft can be experienced. The hotel is worth a detour for its cuisine and regional specialties alone. In the deep rock cellar at almost 2000 meters above sea level, 300 different wines await.

All this makes the Grimsel Hospiz also a popular destination for festive parties or for working seminar rounds.

In winter - deep in snow - the historic house is enthroned in the midst of an untouched natural landscape. A winter oasis of peace of a special kind.
